Great Lakes Adult & Teen Challenge
“Hi, my name is Steve. I am from Neenah, Wisconsin. I grew up in a Christian household, but Jesus wasn’t at the center of it. We never talked about him. There was a hole inside of me that I unsuccessfully tried to fill with drugs,  alcohol and relationships. In the midst of mental illness and addiction, the deep love for my children kept me fighting, and I cried out to the Lord for help. I heard him tell me that I have a choice. I didn’t know what that meant at the time.

My mom never stopped praying for me and found Great Lakes Adult and Teen Challenge. This was the choice I had to make and I said yes. I am   grateful for this program, my Mom, and people who give to make this program possible.”

Steve serves at our Men’s Center Campus of Hope and has done a great job recently overseeing several campus improvement projects. He works together with our direct care staff to serve the men in the program.
“Hi, I am Tyler. I’m from Sheboygan. At a very young age, I was diagnosed with ADHD and placed on medication. My life went in a direction where the only time I felt in touch with reality was when I was under the influence.

I always knew who God was, but I never allowed him into my life as my Lord. I came to the end of myself after losing my mom to cancer.

At Great Lakes Adult and Teen Challenge, I have learned how to truly surrender. God teaches me through this program how to slow down, have patience, and be obedient. I used to be rebellious. Now, God has given me confidence and respect for myself that can’t be shaken because he created me in HIS image. I have enrolled in GED classes, and I know that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” because Philippians 4:13 tells me so. Thank you for supporting people like me.”

Tyler serves at our Men’s Center Campus of Hope helping with projects for our upcoming fall Gala. He has done a great job stepping up and being available to help in anyway he can. Tyler has a passion to help students run the race of faith to completion!
